Guide
Three rules cover nearly everything: double-walled boxes, nothing over 30 kg, and your booking reference written large on every piece. Here is the slightly longer version that keeps mugs whole and backs unhurt.
Double-walled boxes stack without crushing; single-walled supermarket boxes go soft under weight. Fill boxes full (half-empty boxes collapse), heavy items low, and tape the bottom seam twice.
Books are the trap: a large box of books passes 30 kg easily. Split books across several boxes and pad them out with soft things. If you cannot carry it to the kerb comfortably, it is too heavy.
Wrap china in clothes and towels, plates on their edges, glasses stuffed with socks. TVs and monitors in their boxes or sandwiched between duvets. Label the fragile boxes and tell us in the notes so they ride on top.
Your WS reference, written big, top and one side of every piece. We bring labels on the day too, but ink beats everything for not falling off.
